WHAT IS A Licensed NATUROPATHIC DOCTOR?

In a Nutshell: A Licensed Naturopathic Doctor takes a holistic view of your health. This means considering all that's going on with you, how you've responded to therapies in the past, and what we can tell from your labs and physical exam. We provide you with a treatment plan to help support your body's natural healing abilities to get you the healthiest you can be.

In California, Naturopathic Doctors (ND or NMD) are licensed healthcare professionals who can diagnose and treat disease. The training to become an ND requires a 4-year college degree before applying to Naturopathic Medical School, which is an additional 4-year full-time doctorate level program. This includes clinical training under a licensed physician. A Naturopathic Doctor's Medical License requires passing a two-stage nationally recognized board exam. Naturopathic Doctors are required to have continuing medical education to keep their license active.
